Build a clear resume from your own experience
A useful resume makes your experience easy to understand and verify. Start with the evidence, then choose the layout.

The ReWordly Resume Builder, on another Amit Mehta Groups website, can help you prepare a resume. The stronger part of the document is the information you provide. Before opening a template, identify the role you want, the work you actually did, and two or three examples that show the result of that work. You do not need to invent a percentage or claim a promotion to make a line specific.
Gather facts before writing
Make a short list of each role, organisation, location if relevant, dates, tools used and responsibilities. Find evidence such as the number of orders handled, reports prepared, shifts coordinated, customers helped or errors resolved. If you do not know an exact figure, describe the work accurately without guessing. Keep personal contact details to what you are comfortable sharing with the recipient.
Turn a responsibility into a useful line
A line such as “Responsible for warehouse operations” gives little detail. A more useful version is: “Coordinated daily dispatch lists and checked orders against packing records before handover.” It says what happened and what was checked. If you can verify a result, add it: “... reducing repeated packing corrections during the evening shift.” Do not add a number unless you can explain where it came from.
For a student or first role, the same method works with projects, volunteering and training. “Made a spreadsheet” can become “Built a stock-tracking spreadsheet with item codes, quantities and reorder flags for a college project.” The aim is to show the task and your contribution, not to make every activity sound senior.
Enter content into the builder
- Name and headline: use your name and a plain role description that matches your experience. Avoid a headline that promises qualifications you do not have.
- Contact: include a working email and phone number if appropriate. Test portfolio links before sending.
- Summary: write two or three lines about your relevant work and strengths. If you are new to work, state the type of role and the projects that show your skills.
- Experience: put the most relevant or recent role first. Use one result or concrete task per bullet. Check any wording suggested by AI against what you actually did.
- Education and skills: include credentials you have completed or clearly mark anything in progress. Group practical skills rather than adding a long list of vague adjectives.
Review the result as a reader would
Read the first half page at normal zoom. Can someone identify your role, experience and contact details quickly? Remove repeated statements and correct names, dates and spelling. Check whether the page breaks separate a heading from its content. Download the PDF and open it on a phone as well as a desktop screen. A template or resume score cannot guarantee a hiring result.
Resume details may include private contact and employment information. Review ReWordly’s privacy policy before entering them, and keep any downloaded copy on a device you trust.
