Questions about this tool

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. This tool downloads an AI model once to your browser and runs it locally using WebAssembly — your photo never leaves your device at any point.

Why does the first attempt take longer than later ones?

The very first time you use this tool (or after clearing your browser cache), it needs to download a roughly 40MB AI model. Your browser caches that model, so every use after that starts processing immediately.

Does this work on any kind of photo?

It works best on photos with a clear main subject, like a person, product or animal, against a reasonably distinct background. Very busy or low-contrast scenes can be harder to separate accurately.

Can I get a white background instead of transparent?

Yes — switch the Output background option to White, or Solid color to fill it with any color you choose, before downloading.
