Why do I need so many favicon sizes?
Different browsers, operating systems and devices request different icon sizes — small ones for browser tabs, larger ones for mobile home-screen icons and app manifests. Providing the full set avoids blurry or missing icons.
What if my source image isn't square?
It will still generate every size, but non-square images get stretched to fit a square canvas, which can look distorted. Cropping to a square first (with the Image Cropper tool) gives the cleanest results.
How do I actually use the generated files?
Unzip the download into your website's root or an /icons/ folder, then paste the included HTML snippet into your page's <head> — it already points to the correct filenames.
What format are the favicons in?
All sizes are exported as PNG, which is supported by every modern browser for favicons and app icons.
