Questions about this tool

What counts as a "duplicate line"?

Two lines with exactly the same text (after trimming) are treated as duplicates — only the first occurrence is kept, later ones are removed.

Will stripping HTML tags remove the text inside them too?

No, only the tags themselves (like <div> or <br>) are removed — the visible text content between and around them is kept.

What does "Remove non-ASCII characters" do?

It removes characters outside the standard English alphabet, numbers and punctuation set — useful for stripping stray symbols, accented letters or characters from other scripts that pasted in by accident.

Can I combine sorting with the other cleanup options?

Yes — all the checkbox cleanups run first, then sorting (if selected) is applied last, so you get clean, deduplicated, alphabetized lines in one pass.
