FAQ

Questions about this tool

Can I download the spoken audio as an MP3 or WAV file?

No — browsers only expose text-to-speech as live audio output through your speakers, with no built-in way to capture it to a file without a server-side service. This tool is best for reading text aloud, not producing an audio file.

Why do the available voices differ between my devices?

Voices come from your operating system and browser, not from this website — Windows, macOS, Android and iOS each ship different built-in voices, so the list you see depends on your device.

Why is a voice missing that I know is installed on my computer?

Some browsers only expose a subset of system voices to web pages, or need a moment to load them — try refreshing the page if your expected voice doesn't appear in the list.

Does this send my text to a server?

No — speech synthesis runs through your browser's built-in Web Speech API, which in most browsers processes text on-device or via the OS's own voice engine, not through this website's server (this site doesn't have one).
